Working on a speedbuild of a natural wood replica vash's gun from trigun for the upcoming art show at otakon..
the first cylinder build [link] was in pine & looked like crap due to the rings on it that striped horribly, the bullets weren't removable (just end caps, and i painted them black ick), and didn't match the rest of the gun which was going to be in poplar (with walnut handle). might use this for something else (don't know what though)
I took a friends suggestion ewhile doing it over& made the bullets seperate, and made it looser on the rod so the cylinder would spin a lot more freely (the first one was very tight) I might go back & make a couple more bullets in case someone at Otakon decides to walk off with the lil buggers
I'm going to leave it its natural wood color for the most part,... might stain a part or two, but I'm NOT going to maul it with a can of silver spraypaint..
Yay for natural wood!
Disclaimerthang: there will be a few moving parts, but it won't fire!
For one the gun looks awsome,I actually started making one myself but i doubt it will look that good Two the gungrave anime is definatley slower than the game but for those who havent seen it,I highly recomend it.
Drat. I kinda like the cross motif. *L* It was nice to see Nightow use the black/white gun motif again, tho.
The Gungrave games I'm told are pretty rocking but the series goes the whole "slow funeral pace" that's really stopped me watching a lotta anime lately.

Tho now I feel I must ask if there's any chance of you doing a replica of the Cerberus from Gungrave. *L*
still need to catch that series though.. haven't seen a lot beyond a couple pictures of the game ^_^;
