Edit: I have a new digital camera, so I thought it were best to swap out the craptacular fuzzy pics I had here with some decent ones, as well as fix the haphazard presentation...

I had a bunch of those mad articulated spiderman figures laying around, just waiting for a modding jobbie.. , and I gots this thing for Zasalamel from Soul Calibur III... so 2+2=...

so after vaping 450 or so hours, this is what has become of it all...

The base is an 18" Spiderman figure [link] which i butchered and resculpted, and basically made use of the articulation points. The head and neck are scratchbuilt, and I tested a concept of a movable eye, since I only had to do one XD. The others a part of a brass earring.

The body was resculpted with super sculpey, Epoxy Sculpt (for areas that are under more stress) and epoxy putty filler from Home Depot. Went and cut about 1/4 inch off the forearm because spideys were too long, and rebuilt the wrists using balls and sockets from a Bionicle figure to increase mobility. Hands will be interchangeable, because i can't get those gloves off without shredding them and there are plans to do his secondary outfit ^^. The feet were reduced in size, but i retained the articulation points that were present (although the articulation point at the tip of the foot now only moves his big toe XD

The clothing was HELL. Pure excercise in tedium, especially since i had designed it with the goal of also making his secondary outfit, so it all had to be removeable >.<. The shirt took a good 75+ hours of work T_T . The boots were made of couch pleather that i put tiny zippers onto so i could get the boot on him.

Kafziel (his scythe) is made from wood, hope to find a different material and reconstruct the blade.

I still suck at this game. horribly. Anything that can push (or land) on a controller button can kick my ass. But thats okay though.. I'm in it for the eyecandy :heart:

dude, that spidey is sooo many kinds of awesome!.. if you ever decide to go and do it, theses figures are the best to work with.. i mean, if you're gonna spend all the time modding something', might as well run with the best ya can find! Saved a LOOOOOOt of scratchbuilding time..

you can still find em lurking around on ebay.. even broken ones are great to mod (and are cheaper to boot!)

yeah, i was trying to retain the reclusive/mysterious attitude of Zasalamel, so I kind of kept his face obscure a lil.. here's a closeup of is face [link]
The spidey man head is ass though and has a big gap under the jawline, so I replaced his head and neck with a customization I created for a scratchbuild which makes the jawline and neck flow together a lot better! The eye (that he still has left) is articulated, since a one eyed guy was a good place to experiment ^^;

This is just too awesome... looks just like the real thing! The face is just perfect! All the textures and colors are spot-on!

Zasalamel is one of my favorites in Soul Calibur III, even though I can't play him for shit. I just love his design and weapons. I don't like much the color scheme of his second outfit, so I made a blue version on Color Edit XD

holy **** what you made is better than the crap the "professionals" make. OMG his chain mail! All of his clothes are made so well! Nothing looks outta place looks JUST the way it does in the game. Just...F***ing bravo.
